I offer two types of newborn sessions, the Posed newborn session and the Natural newborn session.
POSED NEWBORN SESSION

The standard newborn session includes posed images and takes place in the studio. The photos below are examples of newborn baby poses.
Because this session is posed and includes some shots where baby has his/her diaper off, it can last up to 4 hours (average 2.5-3 hours). Extra time is taken to soothe baby, flatten out their tiny fingers and coax them into the poses, as well as to clean up any “accidents” while baby has their diaper off. The posed newborn session and the natural newborn session both include close-up detail shots of baby’s hands, toes, nose, lips, and eyelashes, as well as family/parent/sibling photos (optional).
This session uses a variety of props in lovely light neutral colors.
NATURAL NEWBORN SESSION
$250
The natural newborn session includes organic, unposed images. It takes place in the studio. The photos below are examples of unposed baby photos.
For this session, I will simply lay baby down, secure them so that they are safe and comfortable, and then take photos in the position that they naturally settle into. Baby has the diaper on for this whole session, and it includes several photos where baby is swaddled.
Because the session is unposed, it is faster than the standard newborn session. The natural newborn session lasts 1.5 hours at the most.
The natural newborn session uses minimal props- simply white/cream/brown blankets and wraps. Headbands and hats are not typically used during this session. One setup will be done in a basket or bucket. The posed newborn session and the natural newborn session both include close-up detail shots of baby’s hands, toes, nose, lips, and eyelashes, as well as family/parent/sibling photos (optional).
LIFESTYLE NEWBORN SESSION
$250
The lifestyle newborn session includes unposed images, and takes place in the comfort of your home. The photos below are examples of lifestyle baby photos.
For this session, I will photograph baby naturally in their home environment, using natural window light. Baby has the diaper on for this whole session, and it includes several photos of baby in mom/dad’s hands.
The lifestyle newborn session lasts 1.5 hours at the most.
The lifestyle newborn session uses no extra props, simply blankets and patterns found in your home. I will bring a white onesie and swaddle for baby to wear. The lifestyle newborn session will include detail shots of baby’s hands and feet, photos of baby alone, as well as many family/parent/sibling photos (optional).
Lifestyle sessions taking place more than 15 miles from Gill St. in Watertown incur an additional travel fee.
